Dakota County Regional Rail Authority to discuss plans for Cedar Ave. March 18 2/26/2010 4:08 PM On March 18, Dakota County Regional Railroad Authority will hold an open house to provide updated information about transit services along the Cedar Avenue corridor, both now and into the future. The open house is from 4:00–7:30 p.m. in the atrium at the Dakota County Western Service Center, 14955 Galaxie Ave., Apple Valley. People will also have the opportunity to ask questions or share their comments and observations so they can be considered as the project moves forward.
The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) presented its 2009 Driver-of-the-Year awards at a recognition dinner following the MVTA Board meeting last night (Feb. 24). In addition, a special award was presented to Lead Trainer Jesse Borchowiec for his exemplary efforts in the training of drivers.
The 2009 Driver-of-the-Year recipients are:
Joni Hamilton, Schmitty & Sons Transit Full-time Driver; and Tony Carlisle, Schmitty & Sons Part-Time Driver.
Buses Now Operate on Second, Marquette Avenues 12/2/2009 4:06 PM All MVTA buses now travel into downtown Minneapolis on Second Avenue from 11th St. MVTA buses will drop off at all E stops. Buses depart from downtown Minneapolis on Marquette Avenue, picking up at all C stops.
